Free online class for October half term: Titration Calculations
For the last few years I’ve tried to offer a range of free live group classes for A Level chemistry students during the school holidays. While these classes have much bigger numbers than my usual small group classes and courses, they still give the opportunity for students to ask questions and engage more than just watching YouTube videos.
The first class for the 2024-25 academic year will be focusing on titration calculations. Titration experiments are a hugely important part of A Level chemistry and titration calculations appear throughout both years. It is one of the most important analytical techniques for students to understand and often features in extended response questions.
This year’s class will be running during October half term at 13.30pm on Tuesday 29th October. There are limited number of spaces for the live class but I’ll be sending out recordings for anyone on the mailing list once spaces fill up. The class is suitable for Year 12 and Year 13 students of A Level Chemistry and will cover the following:
- The basics of titration calculations
- Making the transition from GCSE to A Level calculations – mistakes to avoid
- Identifying unknowns
- Back titrations
There will be time at the end for students to ask questions, and any students attending or watching the recording will also get access to discounts on a range of other resources to help them build their skills.
A note to teachers and tutors: I am more than happy for teachers to use my free resources for classroom purposes and as professional development. Please feel free to share this information with your students, but don’t sign up for the live class as spaces are limited. I will send a recording to anyone who is on my mailing list.
