A Level Chemistry Mock Exam Service

Are you working hard but unsure how ready you really are for the final exams?
One of the most effective ways to boost your grade is to sit a full mock exam under realistic conditions — then get clear, detailed feedback on exactly how to improve.
With over 20 years of experience as a teacher, tutor, and A Level examiner, I’ve seen time and again that students who take high-quality mock exams with expert marking and feedback make faster progress and walk into their exams feeling confident.

Who is this service for?

  • Individual students: Receive a bespoke mock exam plus marking, personalised video feedback, and a targeted action plan to boost your grade.
  • Schools: Download exam papers tailored to your curriculum and receive official mark schemes. You can print and run the exams yourselves.

What’s included?

  • Original exam papers carefully crafted to match the latest AQA, OCR, or Edexcel specifications (all content is downloadable – you will not receive a paper copy).
  • Papers tailored to the topics covered by your school or your individual needs — avoiding irrelevant content.
  • For schools: downloadable exams and mark schemes for self-administration.
  • For individuals: a 90-minute mock exam, marked by me with detailed commentary and a video walkthrough explaining your results, common pitfalls, and revision advice.
  • Flexible exam delivery — schools run papers on their schedule, individual students can take their exam remotely at a convenient time.

Why choose this mock exam service?

  • Original exam style questions — no recycled past papers students have likely seen before.
  • Test your application of knowledge — get a more realistic ‘exam feel’ with assessment of individual topics in a broader, more synoptic setting.
  • Quality feedback — feedback helps you interpret questions correctly, spot key command words, and use precise chemistry terminology.
  • Flexible paper lengths — from 1 to 2 hours for schools, 90 minutes for individuals, with options to cover different topic combinations.
  • Convenient remote submission — take your exam independently, write on paper or digitally, and easily scan and send your answers for marking.

How it works

1. Order your mock exam: Bespoke papers take about a week to prepare after ordering.
2. Take your exam: Under timed conditions — independently for individuals or within school sessions.
3. Submit your answers: Scan and send your completed paper if you’re an individual student.
4. Get your results: Within 5 working days, receive your marked paper and detailed video feedback.

Yes! Many schools choose to test at the end of Year 12 or before Christmas in Year 13, then again in late February or March for Year 13 students. Individual students can also request more than one mock exam – I will make sure the content is different.

At present, schools receive the exam paper and mark scheme as downloads to print and use themselves. Video walkthroughs / examiner commentary videos are also available on request.

Students can print the paper, write directly on a PDF using a tablet, or display it on-screen and write on paper. I’m happy to help with scanning and submission if needed.

All papers are my original creations, written to reflect the style, difficulty, and content of recent exams without repeating past questions.

I use ‘question banks’ to tailor exams to the topics students have covered, and of course to ensure they align with the exam board and specification. So if 2 different students both order an AQA mock exam in December of Year 13, there will be some similar content. However, all questions will be ‘unseen’ and written by me rather than copied from other sources available online (including my predicted and practice papers).

Prices vary depending on the length of the exam and the level of feedback/marking required. Typical prices for individual students range between £79-£99 (all prices including detailed feedback) and for schools between £45-£99.

I am happy to provide a grade for your individual exam, although the primary purpose of the mock is for exam practice and improvement through targeted feedback. I am also happy to write to schools or colleges to give feedback, but do not offer an official UCAS predicted grade based on this service. This is because it is only a small snapshot of performance, and I cannot guarantee how closely students meet exam conditions.
