A Level chemistry Easter Revision Challenge – FREE chemistry challenge with prizes to be won!
I don’t like turning students down, but there’s only one of me here at CK Chemistry and so at this time of year I often have to turn down one to one tuition requests. While I am running Easter and May half term small group classes, I’m often looking for ways to help more students at once – especially if their funds are limited.
Of course, my A Level chemistry masterclass packages are already very affordable (at only £5 per month, £15 will see Year 13 students until their final exams for access to hours of video resources and practice questions). But sometimes we just need a bit of a kick start to revision. So this year I’ll be running a 5 day revision challenge during Easter. It’s completely free, open to Year 12 and Year 13 students, and you can even win prizes!
What’s involved in the challenge?
Each day will have a different general area of focus, such as organic chemistry, calculations or practical work. There will be various revision activities including a quiz, a revision activity, exam practice questions and links to other related videos and resources. There will also be two live Q and A sessions – one on Wednesday 12th April and one on Satuday 15th.
Who can join?
Any A Level chemistry student can join, either in Year 12 or Year 13. Some of the materials will be suitable for Year 13 only – I will make this clear. All you need is the internet! The resources are aimed as revision materials, so if I send a quiz or practice question I’ll expect you to have already covered the topic in lessons, and I’m aiming more for students targeting C grade and above at A Level.
The materials will be suitable for students studying any exam board – please note that the predicted papers and exam revision class prizes are available for AQA and OCR A only.
How do I access the materials?
Links will be sent each day by email – either to an online quiz, YouTube video or livestream, or downloadable pdf file. So all you need is to sign up with your email and make sure my emails don’t go to your junk folder!
Can teachers sign up?
I have no problems with teachers signing up and taking part, especially if you have questions about the materials. However, I’d also really appreciate it if you share the sign up link with your students so they can take part over Easter. Teachers can win prizes too, but not the ‘gold medal’ prize as that is for students only!
What are the prizes?
- Gold medal Year 12: Free A Level online Masterclass subscription until July 2026
- Gold medal Year 13: Free set of predicted and practice papers and walkthrough videos, Masterclass subscription until July 2025 PLUS a free place in my Paper 1, 2 and 3 revision classes running in June.
- Silver medals (4 to be awarded): Full set of predicted papers, practice papers and walkthrough videos
- Bronze medals (10 to be awarded): Either: a set of predicted papers, the calculations and extended response practice booklets, or one month free masterclass subscription
How do I win prizes?
The more active you are in your revision, the more progress you’ll make. So, every time you interact and take part you increase your chances of winning. You can earn ‘points’ by:
- asking questions and interacting via YouTube comments, or in the Q&A sessions
- sharing the challenge on other social media (Facebook and instagram)
- completing quizzes and practice questions
- completing other revision activities and challenges
At the end of the challenge, I’ll enter participating students into a prize draw – the more points you have, the more times your name gets entered. I’ll draw prizes in the live Q&A on Saturday 15th April.
If you want to take part by just receiving emails and not entering the prize draw, that is also fine – you’ll still be revising!
